My passion for tourism started at the young age of only eleven years old when I was fortunate enough to go on safari with a group of students from my school. The wildlife, nature, and cultural diversity I witnessed and experienced on that trip has remained very clear in my memory even to this day. From that point, my love for nature and my beautiful country grew and I began to strive to preserve this environment so that others will have the great opportunity to enjoy it as much I do.
After visiting more National Parks and embarking on mountain climbing experiences, I decided to study wildlife. During that time, I was working as a Swahili teacher for local volunteers and I was striving to support a family near my home by helping to pay for the youngest girl to enroll in school. As more and more people asked me to help them plan their excursions, I knew I needed to find a way to follow my passion for tourism while at the same time supporting my local people.
After completing my diploma in Tourism Management at the Tanzania Institute of Wildlife Research, I decided to start African Traits. It is my goal to share the incredible beauty of Africa with as many people as possible from all around the globe.
