Mount Meru

Location: Northern Tanzania, northeast of Arusha town

Mount Meru is the fifth Highest Mountain in African Continent and the second highest in Tanzania and dominate the Arusha National Park with its huge Cliffs. The mountain is satiated east of the Great Rift Valley and about 40km southwest of Kilimanjaro in Northern Tanzania, Mount Meru is considered as the active Volcano reaching 14,980 ft. (4,566m).

Mount meru is located in Arusha National Park, due to that reason climbers will climb with the armed ranger as there is a wide range of wild animals living on the mountain including Buffalos and Elephants and other animals if we are lucky enough. The hike to Mount Meru usually takes three (3) to four (4) days and mostly considered as the best treat for acclimatization before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
