    Day by Day Itinerary

    After picking you up, we drive to Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka. We make a first stop over at Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Lunch break is at Regency Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi National Park. This is a lush highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and birds, valleys, hills and swamps filled with papyrus. You can also spend your afternoon having a walk around the village and see the local communities living around the park.

    Have an early breakfast and get ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but its well worth the effort.

    After breakfast, we drive for Kibale national park via kabale and have lunch on the way arriving late afternoon for relaxation. Kibale National Park harbours the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa. It is an extensive National Park, protecting a large block of rainforest that offers some excellent forest for bird watching. Birds and primates combined with easy access, a good infrastructure and a variety of interesting activities make this forest ideal for primate watching safaris to Uganda. Many of the facilities are community based, thus providing the local community with the necessary revenue to keep their interest focused on the long-term protection of the area.

    After breakfast, we go to the forest for primate viewing. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning and spend half day searching for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-Colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest. The guide will provide detailed explanations about the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. After lunch, we visit to Bigodi swamp for another beautiful encounter with a rich flora and fauna.

    Relax in the morning and we drive back to kampala via fortportal afterwards with lunch en route. We arrive in Kampala early in the evening and guests can decide which activity they want to take such as city tour and shopping.
